Identifiers

Every project has a stable ID of the form scp-<identifier>, for example scp-a8. IDs do not change when a name or URL changes. Research uses research-…, builds usebuild-…, sources use src-… and relationships use rel-….

Status vocabulary

Project status (lifecycle) and maturity are separate. Status is one of idea, research, prototype, active, stable, maintenance, paused, archived or deprecated. Maturity is one of concept, alpha, beta, production or legacy.

Visibility

Public objects appear in listings, search, feeds and the sitemap. Unlisted objects are reachable by direct link only; unlisted is not a confidentiality control. Restricted and private material never enters the public build.

Schemas

Every canonical record has a JSON Schema: project, relationship, research, build, release, artifact, source, fact and changelog. They are published with the API documentation.

Evidence and verification

Facts record their source, how authoritative that source is, how the value was derived and whether it has been verified. Unknown is a valid answer and is published as unknown.
